Brendon Gale is set to be a key player in starting up a Tasmanian AFL team according to Damian Barrett, after the state was granted a 19th licence to the competition.
The man from Burnie, Tasmania was inducted into the Tasmanian Hall of Fame as a Legend in 2015.
Gale is now set to play an integral role in bringing Tassie football to the biggest stage in the country.
“The conversations have already been had with him to become a key part of the AFL football department,” Damo revealed on The Midweek Rub.
“I would imagine given his connections to that state that a large part of his portfolio would, at least initially, be Tassie.”
