It’s time to answer the age-old question – why is the sky blue?
In case you weren’t aware, oxygen, nitrogen, water and argon gas are all transparent and these molecules make up 99 percent of our atmosphere.
So, wouldn’t this make the sky transparent? Well, the answer has everything to do with the sun and the light it sends to earth.
Cosmos science journalist Matthew Agius takes us through why the sky is blue during the day but transparent enough at night for us to see the stars.
