RUOK? Day is an Australian initiative that brings awareness to the taboo topic of mental health that affects our everyday society. The charity emphasises the importance of checking in with a “mate” and listening and having a meaningful conversation.
The Rush Hour QLD AB and Elliott have a chat with Kieran Hayes the HR Manager for Southern Cross Austereo, the parent company of Triple M. They asked him about the company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and why the program is so important. He explains how other workplaces around Queensland can easily implement similar programs in their workplaces to support the mental well-being of their staff.
Kieran says the program “actual encourages the conversations that we know are so important”.
