Penrith’s 16-10 win over South Sydney at BlueBet Stadium on Thursday night was overshadowed when reports emerged at half-time that a spectator was ejected due to an alleged racial slur aimed at Mitchell.
Reacting to the reports, an emotional Inglis recalled a similar incident that happened to him, before revealing just how painful it is to hear of the alleged abuse aimed at Mitchell.
“We’re not talking about the game, we’re talking about the off-field [incident], which to me is quite s–t, it’s horrible,” Ingis said on LiSTNR’s Footy Talk League Podcast.
“It’s terrible and I don’t wish that upon anyone.”
