Rugby League legend Greg Inglis sat down with The Rush Hour with Gus, Jude & Wendell and answered the question, what’s the one moment you’d like to relive?
LISTEN HERE:
Greg Inglis retired with a trophy cabinet of dreams, especially the section with the countless State of Origin shields, yet the Maroons legend had a moment from the famed series that stuck with him.
‘I would say Game 1 in Sydney,
‘Mark Gasnier absolutely towled me up and I walked in with my tail in between my legs.
‘I was shattered because I took that personally.’
Inglis became emotional sharing the story, as he copped a lot of flack after the 18-10 loss in Sydney.
‘I didn’t do my homework as much as I should have.
‘Gaz was 100%, I was about 95% and that 5% really shows a difference in class.
‘That particular moment in Origin, I thought I was there but I wasn’t there.
‘Mal [Meninga] grilled me about it, really came at me.’
Yet Inglis responded in true fashion, with a man of the match performance in Game 2.
The 30-0 victory marked the beginning of a man who would go on to dominate the Origin arena.
