Aussie cricket legend Ricky Ponting has named the six best bowlers he faced in his glittering career on The Howie Games.
RICKY PONTING NAMES THE SIX BEST BOWLERS HE FACED:
Initially asked for the three best bowlers he’d played against by Mark Howard, Punter ended up settling for three quicks and three spinners.
Ponting included old nemeses and legends like Harbhajan Singh and Muttiah Muralitharan, and some pacemen who troubled him at the start and end of his career.
MORE FROM RICKY PONTING ON THE HOWIE GAMES:
Punter also spoke about Jasprit Bumrah, and if he would been in the conversation amongst the hardest bowlers to face if he’d played against the Indian superstar.
“He would be… He’ll go down as one of the greats,” Ponting said.
“A couple of years ago he had a serious back injury that kept him out, and everyone was worried if he’d come back — he’s come back better.
“And he doesn’t look like slowing down either, any time soon.”
MORE CRICKET FROM THE HOWIE GAMES:
Ponting also spoke more broadly about some of the best batters he’d played against, playing cricket with his dad and how he hopes to play with his own son, how the leadership lessons he’s taken from cricket have helped him in his business ventures and more.
