Triple M’s Rush Hour’s Ben Dobbin has called out the boxing exhibition event Battle on the Reef, which consisted of former and current NRL stars step into the ring.
Dobbo wasn’t a fan of the whole event, but specifically focused on the losses of Ben Hannant & Jarrod Wallace.
“I bought it, I was watching it,” said Dobbin,
“This is going to be controversial.
“I had to turn off the tv, I couldn’t watch it.”
Dobbo continued with his criticism, fearing for players safety after much noise surrounding CTE throughout the rugby league world over the last few years.
“It was unwatchable, it was dangerous,” explained Dobbo.
“I’m sorry, I do not want to professional footballers get into the boxing ring.
“I don’t care if it’s your hobby.
“That is an elite sport that you need to be completely prepared, you need to have done the work.”
