Australia Bound Flight Returned To Singapore Following Bomb Threat

An Australia bound flight has been forced to turn back to Singapore with a fighter jet escort following a bomb threat. 

Scoot budget airline flight TR16 departed from Singapore’s Changi Airport at 4:10PM local time on route to Perth, Australia. 

Approximately 40 minutes into the journey, a man allegedly made a bomb threat.

The plane is believed to have circled several times near Singapore before heading back to Singapore airport.

The plane landed at around 6:30PM local time before a number of security personnel boarded the plane. 

Police escorted two people off the plane with a 30-year-old Australian man arrested for criminal intimidation. 

The incident caused one runway to be closed down, impacting incoming flights.
