Triple M’s and dual code legend Wendell Sailor believes NRL bosses and coaches are scared to embrace a Pride Round, out of fear their season will be “derailed”.
LISTEN HERE:
Sailor’s comments come after a Sydney Morning Herald poll revealed that more than 80 per cent of NRL club bosses don’t support a Pride Round being part of the competition.
“Me personally, I would wear a pride jersey, I don’t have any problem with it,” Sailor said on Triple M’s Rush Hour.
“It’s 2023 and we need to move with the times, but I can see why CEOs and coaches sometimes don’t want to involve themselves – we saw what happened with Manly, it derailed their season last year.”
