Jack Wighton Set To Drop Shock Rep Bombshell, Says Brent Read

Leading NRL journalist Brent Read has revealed Raiders star Jack Wighton is contemplating retiring from representative football, which would rule him out of State of Origin selection for the Blues this season.

NSW Blues officials and Canberra Raiders officials are aware of the potential decision, according to Read.

“He wouldn’t have been a walk-up start because Latrell (Mitchell) and Tommy (Trbojevic) will probably be the centres but Jack would have been a contender for that No.14 jersey,” Read said on Triple M’s Saturday Scrum
