As Roosters utility Connor Watson continues his comeback from injury, his name has appeared in reports he might be part of a clean out at Moore Park.
And not only that, Watson’s name also has been linked to a possible switch to the Dragons, a fact he was unaware of until being told by a colleague.
Watson says being on the injured list has meant he hasn’t been able to control the narrative in the media but says he has learned from past experiences when dealing with speculation.

Watson suffered a patella tendon injury at Roosters training in January which has kept him off the field for the entire 2023 season to date.
“(Recovery) is slow,” Watson said on Footy Talk. “It’s one of those ones where it’s quite a fickle injury.
“The fact you have to keep your leg straight for eight weeks, then when you start doing stuff it can get quite angry if you do too much load.
“The last couple of weeks have been quieter to let the knee just fully rest and heal before we get after a good block of running.
“It’s been hard, frustrating in a sense and the boys haven’t been go well as well so it’s always tough when you’re not out there able to help and seeing the boys struggle.”
