Greg Blewett joined Roo, Ditts & Loz for Breakfast this morning to shed light on the rumoured bid to pinch the New Year’s Test match from Sydney and move it to Adelaide Oval.
It is understood Premier Peter Malinauskas and the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) are keen to take on the New Year’s Test, typically played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Blewey says that Adelaide Oval fans deserve a chance to host the match, given that South Australian fans “just turn up” to test matches.
Almost 87,000 spectators filled Adelaide Oval over four days to see Australia beat the West Indies in early December last year.
