When Steve Waugh Went Full “Chief Ice Breaker” After An Ashes Win

Sometimes the most important thing after a Test match is cracking open a cold one.

But occasionally someone needs to be bold and make the first move.

That’s exactly what Steve Waugh did during the 2019 Ashes, after the first Test of the series where Steve Smith made twin centuries and Australia took a 1-0 lead.

Hadds – who was part of the coaching panel alongside Waugh in the series – recalled on Willow Talk how quiet the change rooms were despite the victory.
