Jay Clark says he played a role in getting Bulldogs Premiership star Liam Picken an attractive contract extension after the 2016 Finals Series.
Speaking on Footy Talk, Jay-Z revealed that an article he wrote about the former Dogs forward at the beginning of the 2017 season might have been the key to securing Picken a handsome pay rise.

“At the time, I think [Picken] was only on about $400,000 a year,” Clark said.
“He had this phenomenal Finals Series, he was a really disciplined, heart-and soul type player, and then turned it on in the Grand Final.
“On the back of that, I wrote this story about ‘why is this man on so little coin’… Someone from the Western Bulldogs the day afterwards said… ‘That cost me about $100k, that story!
“It’s Liam Picken’s career, he deserves all the credit, but I figure he owes me at least a beer!”
