What’s The Go With The Nine-Month Cruise Going Viral On TikTok?

A ship called The Serenade of the Seas has embarked on a nine-month cruise, visiting more than 60 countries across all seven continents.

It’s being hailed as the world’s longest cruise, and it gained notoriety when passengers began posting on TikTok – and it’s now gone completely viral.

Listen to the episode of The Briefing here:

Whether or not you’re someone who would be able to handle nine months at sea, you’ve got to be a little bit intrigued about what it entails, right?

In this episode of The Briefing, we’re joined by Christian Hull, comedian, YouTuber, and host of the Complete Drivel podcast here at LiSTNR, to find out why the cruise is taking the world by storm.

“I think the reason [the cruise has become popular] is because cruising is an older demographic and I think TikTok is younger and the extreme of going on a cruise for nine months shocked us all on TikTok,” Christian said.

“We didn’t even realise that was a thing. It’s not common but it’s not unheard of.

“There is a ship called the World Cruise where you buy an apartment, and you just live on it. So, these things exist, but we’ve never heard or seen them and then everyone was like, ‘I’m sorry, what you’re going to get on a cruise ship for nine months?’”

In this chat with Christian, we discuss what’s been going on onboard, as well as what made him decide to head on the cruise for 16 days this March.
