Sydney Airport anticipates over 130,000 passengers passing through its gates within the next 24 hours alone, marking it as the busiest day of the Easter long weekend.

A Sydney Airport spokesperson recommends that passengers arrive in advance, allocating two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international travel.

“The terminals will still be bustling and we’re encouraging passengers to arrive at the airport two hours ahead of domestic travel if they’re checking in luggage,” the spokesperson said.

Adding a festive touch to the travel hustle, airport staff will also distribute Easter egg chocolates to passengers throughout the holiday.

In Melbourne, the airport braces for an estimated 1.7 million travellers, while Brisbane Airport expects a staggering two million passengers over the next fortnight.

Brisbane Airport has introduced therapy dogs to offer comfort to weary travellers in a bid to ease some holiday stress.
