Taylor Swift’s Vienna Concerts Cancelled Following Foiled Terror Plot

Three Taylor Swift concerts in Austria have been cancelled over a foiled terrorist attack.

The singer planned to play three nights of her Era’s Tour, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.

“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” event organiser Barracuda Music said in a post on Instagram.

This week, on The Briefing, Sacha Barbour Gatt spoke to Levi West from the ANU’s Centre for Social Policy Research about why young men become radicalised and what is being done to stop it.

The statement cited government officials’ “confirmation” of a planned attack at the stadium.
Authorities acted swiftly, arresting two suspected extremists, one of whom appeared to be planning an attack on an event in the Vienna area, suspected to be a concert.
