Ashley Madison User From Brisbane Shares How Everything Came “Crumbling Down”

‘Rachel’ from Brisbane was a member on the online dating service for married people ‘Ashley Madison’. In fact, she met her now partner on there. Then one day hackers publicly exposed the personal details of millions of users. Rachel told B105’s Stav, Abby & Matt how the site literally changed her life.

Speaking after the release of the much-talked about new documentary on the Ashley Madison hack out on Netflix now, Stav, Abby & Matt had put the call out for any listeners from Brisbane who had used the site for their experiences.

Rachel signed up as she was unhappy in her marriage and from what she has heard of Ashley Madison, it seemed like something she needed.

“I was young… I’d been with my husband since I was 18.”

“I put up innocuous pictures up, fake names, all of that. I actually met a person who was married too… and we’ve been together ever since.”

Rachel told Stav, Abby & Matt how she navigated that situation, resulting as it did in the break-up of two marriages. Abby Coleman asked “Did you think of the other woman in all this?”

“No,” Rachel reflected. Explaining that she felt worse for her husband “even though it was a terrible marriage” as that was where her responsibility lay. Her now partner would have felt the same way towards his ex-wife.

Rachel explains how they all handled the resultant situation when everything came “crumbling down”. Plus what she felt when she saw hackers reveal millions of Ashley Madison users’ personal information.
