It might sound like a strange thing to steal, but the theft of catalytic converters are on the rise in Adelaide.

Producer Leigh was confused about why the car sounded strange, and after calling RAA there was a shock discovery.
“[The RAA] said have a look under here, they have literally cut off your exhaust!” Leigh said.
The metals found in catalytic converters contain precious metals more valuable than gold; including platinum, palladium and rhodium.
“I’ve had a chat with the neighbours,”
“If you’re in [my] area keep your car in your carport,” Leigh said.
