Marcia Hines Stresses The Importance Of Remaining Present In The Moment

If you’re a true Australian and lover of music, you will know the name Marcia Hines.

Marcia is a musical legend who has been entertaining us both on stage and off for 50 years and has dedicated her life to inspiring and mentoring Australians as a long-time host on Australian Idol.

While Marcia is now an accomplished musician, she explains to Jess in this episode of The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show how the people around her gave her the courage and strength to follow her dreams as a teenager.

Marcia Hines ‘The audience don’t need to know that’

“I think, you know, we lead by example. You start to see all that stuff. Jessica, as you grow older, you know, when you’ve got good people around you and you think, Gee, I’m being a good person and the reason I’m being a good person is because someone was good to me,” she said.

“I’ve grown up around wise people, you know, and I love hearing stuff. I love learning. I’m, I’m a bit of a, a sponge when it comes to learning. So, I’ll learn, but you know, I’m not perfect. Did you guys hear me? That I say, I say I am not, I’m not, I’m far from perfect, but I, I try and be the best person I can be each day.”

Marcia reveals to Jess why it’s important to live in the moment when you’re on stage and how she uses hope to ward of unnecessary worry.
