Brad Haddin On The Big Moment Pakistan Got Wrong In The T20 World Cup Final

Brad Haddin explained the big call Pakistan captain Babar Azam got wrong in the T20 World Cup Final loss to England on today’s edition of Willow Talk Daily.

“I tell you what one of the biggest moments in this game was,” Hads said.

“Yes the obvious when (Pakistani quick Shaheeh Shah) Afridi went off, but it was Babar’s decision to bowl the off-spinner (Iftikhar Ahmed) that was a huge decision.

“If you look at the game, they only had 137 on the board. That’s five balls there, and you could see Stokes change straight away.

“He hit the last two balls of that over for six and four, got momentum back, and the next over I think they went for 16.

“I think what they should have done there was go back to one of their strike bowlers, this game was never gonna go the distance… it’s such a big moment to go to a part time spinner.”

The final was evenly poised until Afridi injured himself taking a catch at long on to dismiss Harry Brook.

The young left arm paceman came back on to bowl the 16th over but could only manage one delivery before limping off, leaving Iftikhar to bowl the last five balls.

Iftikhar’s five deliveries cost Pakistan 13 runs, and England cruised to the target of 138 with an over to spare.
