Uncle Doug Mulray’s Hilarious Speech For His Induction To The ACRA Hall Of Fame

Legendary broadcaster and Triple M Icon Doug Mulray has passed away aged 71.

As we send our love to Doug’s family and loved ones and mourn a true spiritual leader of Triple M, we remember Uncle Doug’s amazing speech on being inducted to the Commercial Radio Australia Hall of Fame in 2019.

At the same time, many of those who worked alongside Uncle Doug on Triple M Sydney shared their incredible memories of a true golden age.

Andrew Denton, Rod Muir, Charlie Fox, Dave Gibson and more all shared their fond recollections of Doug and working on a show that had everything from a Tiger pooing on the floor of the office to chainsawing a boardroom table… allegedly.

Truly an icon.

Everyone at Triple M will raise a glass to Doug Mulray today.

This morning on air on 104.9 Triple M Sydney, Mark ‘MG’ Geyer and Mick Molloy paid their own tributes.

Andrew Denton – or as he was famously known ‘Andrew The Boy Wonder From Indoor Cricket’ – also joined the show to share his love for his great mate Dougie. Listen here.

While on social media, followers of Triple M Sydney left messages and memories in their hundreds: see the post and comments here.

CEO of Southern Cross Austereo, Grant Blackley, also paid special tribute saying “[Doug] was radio royalty and an absolute legend.”

“He was deeply opinionated, highly intelligent and one very cheeky bugger. Thank you Dougie for entertaining us and ensuring we never took life too seriously.”

Doug Mulray, you were a bloody legend and we love you.
