Demons captain Max Gawn gave us insight into his initial reaction when he saw best mate Angus Brayshaw knocked out in Thursday night’s clash with Collingwood.
LISTEN HERE:
“For me it’s a best mate and a teammate KO’d on the ground and that’s all I can see,” Gawn told The Marty Sheargold Show.
“I’m just seeing a KO’d guy on the ground, he was KO’d for a long time and struggling in the changerooms that night.”
Brayshaw was knocked out for two minutes after Brayden Maynard collided with him in the first quarter, an act which was thrown out by the tribunal on Tuesday night.
“I saw [the collision] on the big screen… I’ve tried to shut myself away from it,” Gawn admitted.
“I think I’m way too biased to have an opinion, because I can’t really see the other point of view, and the other point of view won so I must be way off.

“I had people telling me there’s no way he can get suspended for it, I just couldn’t see that because I was so biased and so in on the Brayshaw result.
“Now it’s happened I’ve realised it has got nothing to do with Melbourne really… it’s so far away from Melbourne v Carlton that I’m not really too fussed about it.”
