Max Gawn Dismisses Player Weights Being Made Private

Max Gawn discussed the recent decision to make AFL player weight’s confidential.

Gawn explained that the clubs rarely submit an accurate number every year, so it’s an easy decision to scrap it.

“Look to be honest, there’s no need for it in the first place. There’s no need for player weight.”

“I’ve been the same weight in the booklet since I got drafted, and I’ve changed weight 10 times.” 

MAX GAWN:

“We don’t stand on the scales every year for the AFL… So there is no point in it.”

Gawn also chatted about the wellbeing of Clayton Oliver after a delayed start to preseason.
