James Brayshaw told us about the time he was ambushed after a Sheffield Shield match by Lord Ian Botham in the sheds at the WACA with a bottle of whiskey.
Beefy was playing for Queensland at the time and it was JB’s debut game for Western Australia.
“I’m sitting in the corner minding my own business, just looking around thinking ‘how the hell am I in this room’.”
18 YEAR-OLD JB & BEEFY:
“This in 1987. He (Botham) and Viv Richards are biggest names in world cricket.
“He produces a bottle of single malt scotch whiskey.
“Throws the lid away… Says we won’t be needing that!”
