Roo believes players who aren’t playing “dirty” should still have a chance to win the Brownlow Medal, and has sent a message to someone high up at the AFL to get on top of this.
Over the weekend, Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas received a one match ban for rough conduct.
“This is not a dirty thing…This is a football tackle” says Roo.
“When you go to bump these days, you take all responsibility for it.”
“If you got suspended back then you had to punch someone, elbow someone.”
“These days…look at Luke Pedlar for instance, it was an absolute football tackle.”
