Ken Hinkley On His Round One Selection Dilemma

Port Adelaide Senior Coach Ken Hinkley joined Triple M’s with Roo, Ditts & Loz to preview Power’s Round One game against West Coast Eagles at Adelaide Oval this Sunday.

First up, it’s a tough one to work out which team Hinkley will announce, with almost the whole group fit and firing for their first game of 2024.

“It’s probably a bit more difficult for Round One as we have just about everyone, apart from Lordy, available.”

On the subject of Ollie Lord, Hinkley gave a cautious update on his injury, plus a more positive word about Charlie Dixon.

Even Mark Ricciuto had to admit the quality of the Port new recruits and remaining superstars should be enough to trouble any team in the comp. Port Adelaide go into the 2024 footy season with very high expectations, something Ken Hinkley understands and even welcomes.

Onto the big questions, Loz asked the Port head honcho which he’d save if Zac Butters and Connor Rozee were both drowing and he could only save one… his answer: he’d sacrifice himself so he could save both!
