No Talk Day: Chris Dittmar Admits Lashing Out Is A Sign He’s Not Okay

As part of No Talk Day, we speak with Chris ‘Ditts’ Dittmar who provides a rare insight into his mental health, admitting that lashing out is usually a sign he’s not okay.

We speak with Ditts as part of 2021’s special podcast, Real Men Can Talk.

Ditts says when he looks back at his worst moments, he realises that his anger just indicates he’s not okay.

“I think the times I lash out at home and get angry, maybe I’m overwhelmed,” Ditts said.

“When you look back and analyse, you think that just wasn’t worth getting angry about.”

Despite recognising lower moments in his own mental health, he acknowledges that he sometimes doesn’t know how to help others.

Ditts recalls a key moment where he took a harsh approach with his son instead of taking the time to understand the deeper issues.

“I got really stern and pointed with him,” he said. “Don’t hit me with that bullshit. Get better.”

Later Ditts realised it was a mental health issue.
