Mitchell Starc has taken us behind the scenes in the preparation for the Ashes on The Howie Games Ashes Diaries.
Starc discussed the news of Josh Hazlewood & Sean Abbott being ruled out of the first Test after both sustaining hamstring injuries in the Sheffield Shield game against Victoria.
“The original scan came back and wasn’t great news for him, so he’s gonna miss a few weeks,” Starc said on Abbott.

“Poor guy. He’s always been so close, in a few Test squads so hopefully it’s a speedy recovery for Seany.”
Starc was more bullish about Hazlewood’s recovery after initially being cleared from his first scan.
“He was pretty confident he’d be okay.”
“We found out today that his follow up scan was no good. Not ideal, it’s been quite a while that I have been in a squad without Josh & Pat.”
