Potopova champagne popper

We Find The Wimbledon Champagne Popper Who Rudely Interrupted Potapova’s Serve

If you’ve been enjoying the Wimbledon’s finest athletes return serve in London, then you might have heard about the most middle-class moment to happen at the tennis!

Roo, Ditts & Loz go one step further and find the spectator who popped the bottle at the most inopportune time…and she’s from ADELAIDE!

Roo, Ditts & Loz speak with Adelaide local Molly, the ‘Wimbledon Popper’ who was on court 3 watching Anastasia Potopova vs Mirra Andreeva.

“In hindsight, probably should have opened the bottle outside of the court before you go in,” Molly said.

Wimbledon shared the moment on their Twitter with Aussie umpire John Blom dishing the warning during Anastasia Potopova’s serve.

“Ladies and gentlemen…if you are opening a bottle of champagne, don’t do it as the players are about to serve,” Blom said.

Could this moment have AUSSIE written all over it any more?
