Before Adam Gilchrist and Brad Hodge joined him on Willow Talk, Adam Peacock did a little bit of prep on all of their numbers across their professional cricket career.
He noticed – surprisingly – that Gilly had one career wicket to his name.
And Gilly wasn’t short of detail on the one time he whipped the gloves off to have a trundle.
GILLY’S ALL-TIME YARN BEHIND HIS ONE WICKET:
“1/0 once in a T20 match!” Adam proclaimed.
So Gilly ran through every single detail of his one professional cricket victim: Harbhajan Singh.
“It was my last ever, really, competitive game of cricket, my last ever IPL match up in the foothills of the Himayalan mountains, Dharamsala.
“My last game, playing Mumbai Indians. They needed – I thought as captain I’ve done my maths right here – they needed 42 to win (off the last over and) I thought ‘okay, I’m safe to have a trundle here!'”
