Triple M’s and Broncos legend Gorden Tallis says he can’t help but laugh at the Roosters’ roster-building success.

The Roosters’ roster and the club’s salary cap have been major talking points among fans and pundits in recent weeks.
The club’s playing list was put under the microscope earlier this week when leading NRL journalists Phil Rothfield and Brent Read valued the roster at $13 million, which is $1.5 million over the salary cap.
Tallis said he couldn’t help but laugh, given fellow competition heavyweights Penrith and Melbourne lost several key players in the off-season, while the Roosters signed Brandon Smith for 2023 before locking in Dom Young and Spencer Leniu for next season.
“I just find it funny that Penrith has had big chunks [taken] out of [their roster] and then the Melbourne Storm, who didn’t say a word, have lost more players than anybody else,” he said on Triple M’s NRL coverage.
