NRL legend Greg Inglis believes Cowboys skipper Chad Townsend “hasn’t been performing the way he was” after North Queensland’s season took another hit this week with a 44-6 thrashing at the hands of Cronulla on Thursday night.
LISTEN HERE:
Townsend, one of the Cowboys’ standouts in 2022, has found himself under the microscope with coach Todd Payten’s men suffering their sixth loss through nine games played in 2023.
The 32-year-old skipper failed to finish the match and was seen with an ice pack strapped to his calf.
“He just hasn’t been performing, plain and simple,” Inglis said on LiSTNR’s Footy Talk League Podcast.
Inglis was speaking alongside fellow NRL great, James Graham, who echoed similar comments before revealing how Townsend was “exposed” in North Queensland’s loss to Cronulla.
