“He Was The Difference:” Brad Haddin Pinpoints Where Australia Lost The Third Ashes Test

The Ashes series is well and truly alive after England capped off a come-from-behind win with a three-wicket victory at Headingley to make it 2-1 Australia with two Tests to play.

Momentum swung back and forth between both teams throughout the four days, but former Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin says one man made the difference in the match.

Australia needed 10 wickets on day four while England needed 224 runs having knocked off 27 runs in five overs late on Saturday.

As runs flowed so did constant wickets as Mitch Starc removed four of the top seven batters to leave England on the ropes at 6-171, still needing a further 80 runs for victory.

But the hosts rallied through Harry Brook and Chris Woakes. The pair put on 59 to guide England to the cusp of victory before Starc dismissed Brook for 75 to complete his five-wicket haul.

Woakes and Mark Wood made sure England kept the series alive, with Wood hitting the winning runs in a player-of-the-match performance.

The teams now have nine days off, with the fourth Test in Manchester starting on July 19.
