Maroons legend Greg Inglis admits New South Wales might have “too many ball players” amid criticism over the roles and combinations of Brad Fittler’s key playmakers.

Following the Blues’ Game I defeat, questions were raised over the roles of playmakers Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai, and fullback James Tedesco, with criticism made over the trio’s combinations.
Blues great Ryan Girdler told Triple M after the match that it looked like Tedesco was receiving the ball in situations that should’ve gone to the playmakers.
“I’m yet to see the Jarome Luai, Nathan Cleary and James Tedesco combination work. I don’t think they’re in sync,” Girdler said.
Quizzed by host Adam Peacock on whether too many players were hovering around the middle and getting in each other’s way, while adding Isaah Yeo and Cameron Murray to the list, Inglis responded: “Short answer yes, I reckon they get in each other’s way”.
