Souths will be without star recruit Jack Wighton for the start of the 2024 season after he was found guilty of biting Newcastle’s Tyson Gamble.
Wighton pleaded his case before the NRL judiciary to no avail and was suspended for three matches, but league legend Gorden Tallis says Wighton should have escaped a ban before the hearing even started.
