Brad Haddin gave Willow Talk listeners a peek inside the Australian cricket team dressing room, nominating the biggest rain delay pest from his time in the game.
HADS NAMES THE BIGGEST RAIN DELAY PEST:
“He was the best and the worst,” Hads said.
“He would get bored really quick, so he’d come up with ways to annoy everyone… but he’d also be the best to organise something if we were finishing early.
“Whether going on the golf course, a restaurant, a good drink… he was very good at that.”
MORE ON THE BORDER-GAVASKAR TROPHY:
The discussion came up after the first day of the Brisbane Test was ruined by rain, with India only managing to deliver 13.2 overs before play was called off for the day.
Hads also had a theory on how the current Aussie dressing room would have dealt with the wet weather:
“I’d imagine in the change room at the moment there’d be a lot of fast bowlers eating toasted sandwiches… and trying to avoid Marnus!”
MORE FROM BRAD HADDIN:
Cal Ferguson, meanwhile, let the Willow Talk listeners in on how members of the various commentary teams who call a day’s play pass the time.
“There is a lot rubbish talked,” Ferg said.
“There is just copious amounts of dross dribbled out the back there!”
On the day one episode of Willow Talk Extras, Hads, Ferg, and Izzie Westbury discussed what little play there was, India’s team changes, the wisdom of winning the toss and bowling, and more.
