Mitch Starc smashed the Indian Premier League record on Tuesday night with a $4.4 million deal – but he tried his hardest not to watch it.
Starc topped the record set moments earlier in that auction by his Australian skipper Pat Cummins, landing at the Kolkata Knight Riders.
But – as he told Adam Peacock on Willow Talk – he had all the plans in place to try and avoid the auction itself.
“It’s Cummo and my shout for the rest of the summer!”
