Golf With Shane Warne And James Packer: Brad Hodge’s $14,000 Putt And His Trembling Hands

Few stories can rival the sheer nerve-shattering experience that Brad Hodge recently shared on the Howie Games Podcast.

The former Australian cricketer – who’s book ‘Top Knocks’ is out on September 24 – recalled an unforgettable (and equally hilarious and utterly terrifying) round of golf with none other than Shane Warne and James Packer at the exclusive Capital Golf Club.

Despite his jitters after Warney and the billionaire mogul announced it would be $1000 a hole, Hodgey played out of his skin.

“As soon as ($1000 per hole) gets mentioned, I am petrified,” Hodgey admitted.

However, after winning a few holes and finding himself and The King two up with two holes to play, the stakes escalated and suddenly Hodgey was staring at a putt to potentially win $14,000.

“I had a three-metre putt for $14,000 and I missed it by four metres. I was so shit scared. I was rubbish. My hands were trembling.”

“It was the worst golfing experience I have ever had in my life,” he confessed.

Hodgey’s hilarious tale of Warney and James Packer is one of many brilliant stories he brings to the table in the latest instalment of The Howie Games.
