When Brad Haddin jumped onto the domestic cricket scene, Jason Gillespie was already well and truly established as one of the better bowlers in the country.
As Hadds recalled with Dizzy on Willow Talk, Dizzy definitely let him know about it.
WHEN DIZZY SLEDGED HADDS:
Jason Gillespie was a special guest on the latest episode of Willow Talk alongside Adam Peacock and Brad Haddin, where Hadds and Dizzy recalled a few of their clashes in the ING Cup.
Hadds was starting out in cricket at the time, and Dizzy did not make things easy for him.
“I can’t repeat that,” he laughed.
“I can remember playing a game, actually really early doors against Dizzy at Coffs Harbour, and I was opening the batting. And Dizzy, in [his] heyday, he was a mix between Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee. He had the pace of Brett Lee and the line of Glenn McGrath.
“He’s coming in to bowl, first one’s gone past (my head), I probably tried to step away and hit it over cover because I was petrified.
“He looked at me and said…”
