“He Had A Broken Leg!”: Brad Haddin Reveals His Toughest Teammate

With Mitchell Starc pushing through the pain barrier to star for Australia on day one at The Oval, it got the boys on the Willow Talk thinking about the game’s toughest players.

Brad Haddin was asked who the toughest player he played with, a player that would ignore medical advice to take the field and do his country proud.

HEAR BRAD HADDIN’S TOUGHEST TEAMMATE AND A RECAP OF DAY ONE AT THE OVAL ON THE WILLOW TALK CRICKET PODCAST:

Starc is batting a crook AC joint in his bowling shoulder but shrugged off the pain to take 4-82 on day one.

“I’m not interested in getting it scanned or anything like that. That (damage to the AC joint) is what the doc and physio think’s the case,” said Starc.

“We’ll worry about that at the end of the week. There’s a bit of discomfort there … Nothing major. I can still bowl and do what I need to do.

“I’ve played for over 10 years and been through a few niggles and injuries through the time.

“There have been times when I’ve left the team a man down, or other people have.

“We all push through niggles and whatnot so it’s no different this week, just a little bit of discomfort.”
