Zac Williams Opens Up On Carlton’s Support Through A “Long 18 Months”

Zac Williams is in red-hot form at Carlton, kicking 14 goals in his last seven games.

But it hasn’t come easy.

Williams, in the last 18 months, has had to deal with plenty of adversity.

One being a torn ACL, which cost him the entire 2023 season as Carlton stormed to a preliminary final.

The other – much more significant – was the devastating loss of his sister Sammy.

And he opened up on how much support he’s had at the club, particularly from Michael Voss after his arrival at the club.

“When ‘Vossy’ came to the football club, it probably took me half a year to…build trust with him and then speak to him about family stuff,” he told Heath Shaw and Dale Thomas on Footy Talk.

“Once I opened up to him, he sort of wrapped his arms around me and really just, when I need to go home for a weekend or whatever it was, he really just (said) yeah, do what you need to do…”
