Triple M Footy’s Dale Thomas discussed the booing of Buddy Franklin during the Swans’ loss to Collingwood yesterday, saying he can’t understand why any fan would feel compelled to do it.
“You would hope not, you would certainly hope not,” Daisy said when asked if could be an Adam Goodes type scenario on the Marty Sheargold Show.
“Under the Adam Goodes situation, everyone came out and said ‘we’re doing it because he’s good, there’s nothing to do with race’, which is a bit of a long bow and an easy out.
“I don’t understand it really… surely they are booing him because he is too good and has been good for a long time, but even then — why are you booing him?”
Daisy said he was impressed by the attitude of Collingwood coach Craig McRae, who was unequivocal in his condemnation of the booing.
“Thankfully Craig McRae continues to come out and say ‘we don’t boo as a household’… until this point the Pies fans have been really good at sort of evolving and adapting.
“ANZAC day, when we thanked the bombers captain and whatnot after the win, there was no booing, just celebration… Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen [the booing continuing], because that’s no good.
“That’s not good for the game, that doesn’t make your side any better, and it reflects poorly on everyone.”

McRae had earlier addressed the booing in his post-match press conference.
“I’ve said this before, I’m not a booer and we don’t boo at home,” he said.
“You pay your money and do whatever you want.
“I must admit, I didn’t hear it, I don’t know if [that’s because] we had the headsets on or whatever. But we just don’t boo.”
