Max Gawn has expressed his frustration about being sucked into discussions swirling around Melbourne recruit — and rumoured trade possibility — Brodie Grundy.
MAX GAWN ON HIS FRUSTRATION ABOUT BEING PART OF BRODIE GRUNDY DISCUSSIONS:
“I don’t understand the love for this story,” Gawn said on the Marty Sheargold Show.
“I’ve been playing footy for 15 years, I’ve won a flag, had some individual success, had some adversity, but this is the most I’ve been talked about in my life and it’s not even about me.
“So indirectly, I’ve been mentioned more than I’ve ever been within media outlets.”

Max said he feels for Grundy being the main target of all the chat.
“I spoke to him the other day, he keeps his head underwater a fair bit,” Gawn said.
“He said he needed to come up and get some air the other day, wanted to poke up and see what’s happening.
“There were seven different articles on him… it was just phenomenal.”
MORE ON MELBOURNE:
Max said he’s been stunned by the level of interest in the stories.
“I get it was a big call for us to go double ruck, with two All-Australian rucks,” he said.
“But I just don’t get the love for this story.
“At the moment he’s not in the team, he’s still a chance to play in the next two finals… I’m still keen on him as a journey to get this right over the next few years.
“But he’s got every right to talk to other clubs.”
MORE ON BRODIE GRUNDY:
Max Gawn also discussed his coin tossing technique, the match up against Collingwood tonight, and previewed the other finals.
