Jay Clark Explains The Ramifications Of The Taylor Adams Move For Collingwood, Fremantle & Jack Ginnivan

Triple M Footy news breaker Jay Clark explained on the Rush Hour how the Taylor Adams move to Sydney will have ramifications for the rest of the trade period.

THE TRADE PERIOD RAMIFICATIONS OF THE TAYLOR ADAMS MOVE:

“Sydney have been busy, and they’ve picked up Taylor Adams for pick 33, which is pretty good business if you ask mine,” Jay said.

“Sydney, as we’ve sort of discussed before Jim, they’re a low contested possession side.

“They’re gonna be missing Callum Mills for the first chunk of the season, Taylor Adams was stuck on a half forward flank for the Pies.

“So that deal gets done for pick 33, and it could have ramifications…”

Jay explained how the acquisition of pick 33 could have an effect on Collingwood’s chase of Lachie Schultz, and how the Freo goal sneak arriving at the Pies would have an impact on cult figure Jack Ginnivan.

Jay also outlined the impact Schultz’s departure would have on Fremantle, with 11 players including now dual Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale leaving the club since 2018.

If Schultz and Liam Henry follow Joel Hamling out the exit door that number could be as high as 13 this off-season.

MORE FOOTY NEWS:

“Now they’ve got pick 33, it just gives them (Collingwood) a foundation to really hammer Fremantle for Lachie Schultz,” Jay said of Collingwood.

“There is a year to go, remaining, on Lachie Schultz’s deal at Fremantle… I’m thinking this deal will get done.

“It’s not certain, but I think Collingwood will pick him up.”

Jay also outlined what a Schultz departure would mean for Fremantle, and more specifically coach Justin Longmuir.

“Because they’ve lost so many established, ready made players… maybe they’ve got to have a look at the Collingwood list and try and get some steak knives,” he said.

“There will be a lot of pressure — I know Luke Beveridge will be under a lot of pressure next year, but I think Justin Longmuir also… he’ll be under the pump to try and get Fremantle up into this finals.

“And this, the player exits, will be part of that story.”

MORE ON LACHIE SCHULTZ:

Jay also outlined the possible impact for Pies cult hero Jack Ginnivan.

“There’s been a lot of talk about Jacky Ginnivan, who doesn’t want to go anywhere, and I’m not sure there’s a lot of interest in him to be honest, certainly not from Fremantle,” Jay said.

“So does he slot straight into that Tay Adams spot? I think they can make room there.

“I sort of thought Tay Adams was becoming a bit of a fringe player at Collingwood anyway.”
