Could Charlie Curnow Or Jeremy Cameron Kick 100 Goals This Year?

With Charlie Curnow and Jeremy Cameron starting the season with regular bags of goals, Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett has asked the big question — could we see the 100 goal threshold crossed this year?

CAN CURNOW OR CAMERON KICK 100?

“There’s only 21 living who’ve kicked 100 goals, 28 in total,” Damo said on the Midweek Rub.

“Are we gonna get a chance this year?

“With Curnow and Cameron — and particularly Cameron — tracking at four and a half (goals per game), the extra game… gives them 23 games.

“Do the maths on that, it almost gets them there.”

Never miss anything with the Best of Triple M Footy playlist:

Daisy Thomas said he really hoped it could happen.

“I hope they can get there,” he said.

“Whether or not it’s in the regular season or it takes until finals… imagine that, Grand Final day, Jeremy Cameron lining up for 100!”

MORE FROM THE MIDWEEK RUB: Damian Barrett Says The AFL Tribunal Is “Not In Sync” With The MRO And Has “Just Got To Go”

Joey Montagna tempered expectations a bit, saying that a big number but a bit shy of 100 is more likely.

“I think to see someone kick 80 plus goals would be a good result,” he said.

“In the last 13 years we’ve only had one forward kick 80 goals, that was Josh Kennedy in 2016.

“You have to go back to Fev (Brendan Fevola) in 2009 [before that], so I think the 80 goal mark is absolutely achievable, and it will probably be both of those boys if they continue their form.

Joey, Daisy and Damo also discussed the “out of sync” MRO and tribunal, the 4-0 Saints’ finals chances, their Gather Round predictions and more.
