The NRL has been making plenty of headlines this week, but unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons.
What started out as an act of inclusivity from the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles quickly turned sour when seven players said they would be refusing to play in this week’s upcoming game against the Sydney Roosters because they didn’t want to wear a Pride themed jersey.
The club committed to wearing the jersey, which displays a rainbow strip, as a sign of diversity and inclusivity.
News of the boycott sparked outrage from fans, media and players. Now, Abbie Chatfield has reacted to the news on It’s A Lot, and as always, she did not hold back.
“I mean obviously you’re a homophobe… You’re so fragile and insecure that you can’t handle a sliver of rainbow on your chest.”
