The Excelsior Heights home was sprayed with several bullets, with it understood a man and woman in their 50s were at home at the time but were not injured.

“It is believed a number of shots were fired towards the home causing extensive damage to the front of the residence,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

The incident comes just one day after a drive-by shooting in Endeavour Hills on Wednesday morning.

A 16-year-old boy was sleeping in his home when bullets peppered the house at about 1.30am.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The boy’s parents, as well as an 11-year-old girl were inside at the time but were not injured.

The shooting was believed to be a targeted attack, however not intended for the family inside the home.
