Teenage Boy Shot While Sleeping In Endeavour Hills

A 16-year-old boy has been shot overnight while sleeping in his Endeavour Hills home.

Emergency services were called to the home in Janmara Court following reports of the shooting at about 1.20am.

The victim was taken to hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other family members were in the home at the time but were not injured.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Police said a number of shots were fired into the home from either the road or footpath.

The gunman remains on the run.

The area has been cordoned off while detectives and officers process the scene.

Wednesday morning’s shooting is the latest targeting teenagers in Melbourne in recent months.

Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were charged on September 4 following the abduction of a Glen Huntly schoolboy.
