The four Australians who went missing off the coast of Indonesia during a surfing trip have been found alive.
Jordan Short, Elliot Foote, Will Teagle and Steph Weisse went missing when their wooden speed boat encountered dangerous weather while on the way to the Banyak Islands.
According to Elliot Foote’s father Peter, three of the surfers were found floating on surfboards.
“They’ve found three of them … all bobbing around, but my son got on a surfboard and paddled to an island for help,” he said.
The discovery of the surfers follows a large-scale search which recommenced early on Tuesday morning and included Australian skippers and local rescue teams.
Teagle, Short and Weisse were located on Wednesday by an Australian man on a catamaran.
According to the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency on Nias Island, the three surfers were found floating on surfboards just off Tengku Island at around 8:30AM.
There is still no sign of the three Indonesian who were also onboard when the boat went missing including two mechanics and the boat’s owner.
